Holy Forest Academy
The Holy Forest Academy (In Japanese, Kissho Academy) is the school that the GTO series mainly takes place in. It is a private school in Kichijoji widely regarded as a star college. However, it has become an example of Japan's corrupted education system and one of its victims, with its teachers' own teaching attitudes and conducts being highly questionable. Students, especially from Class 3-4, are involved in and suffer from social problems such as lack of ethics, bullying, and sexual harassment. Even more horrible incidents also happen such as gangs, violence and worst of all, suicide. A new teacher, Eikichi Onizuka, becomes determined to tackle these problem in his own ways. They also have a sister school, Evergreen Academy, in a remote part of Hokkaido.
Real existing places of GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka)
Most of the series is set in a small interesting neighborhood west of Shinjuku in Tokyo: Kichijoji. Some particular scenes take place in more famous neighborhoods as Shinjuku and Shibuya.
